WHAT STARTED THE CUBAN REVOULTION?:

One of the main reasons for the start of the Cuban Revolution was Fulgencio Batista's coup to win the election for Cuban President. Fulgencio Batista had ruled before in Cuba as

a favourable president from 1933-1944. After his term ended he settled in Florida until 1952 when he led a non violent militarized coup of the Cuban presidential elections for fear of losing and because he was unhappy with the resurgence of corruption in Cuba. Many Cubans were unhappy with his takeover including Fidel Castro.

Another reason for the Cuban Revolution was the poor living conditions and treatment of the lower class. The lower class lived in mud and straw huts, worked as farmers and had a very low income, or no income at all.

Finally, Cuba's economy was bad at the time and many Cubans blamed Fulegencio Batista because of his relationship with America. He put America above all else leaving his already impoverished citizens to become even more impoverished
